1. Downloading the Comlabgames software
a.
Go to Comlabgames web page
b.
Click on Server download JWS
version and the program will automatically download and follow the
prompts:
·
Always Accept the Comlabgames certificate
·
Allow exception for Comlabgames with respect
to firewalls. This is important otherwise subject will not be able to connect
to your computer
·
Make a shortcut on Desktop
If
you have troubles with the shortcut do the following:
1.
Go to Control Panel (switch to classic view)
2.
Click on the Java icon.
3.
Go to Advanced tab and click
the plus beside Shortcut Creation.
4.
Select the option "Prompt User."
5.
Click OK and close the control
panel.
2. Playing Games
a.
Once Comlabgames software is downloaded, you will be
asked in the class to open it by double clicking on the icon
b.
Once the program is open, select “Client Play
tab”
c.
You will be instructed to write a server address,
similar to the example above and any username.
d.
Then connect to the game by clicking on “Login”
3. Reading output file
a. After
you finish playing the game in the class, the Data will appear on your
screen, just like the one below:
b. Drag
the icons(variables) into Viewer just like in the example below, and then
click on “Export Table”
c. The
program will prompt you to save the data in ASCII form. You will be able to
read in EXCEL or any other statistical program
